Heilind is one of the world's leading distributors of connectors, relays, switches, thermal management and circuit protection products, terminal blocks, wire and cable, wiring accessories, and insulation and identification products. We are the industry’s pre-eminent interconnect distributor, with the largest inventory of connector products in North America.

Since our customers are our highest priority, Heilind now has more than 40 locations all over the world to guarantee a fast processing of all orders. In addition to that, Heilind can now offer a new location in Germany to serve the European market. This service network position Heilind’s inventory within one shipping day of 90% of our customers. Moreover, Heilind can offer it's "Value Added Services" globally - now also in Germany.

In 1974, Heilind was founded by Bob Clapp in Massachusetts, which is still home to the company's headquarters.

Heilind has grown throughout the years by internal expansion and through strategic acquisitions. Significant acquisitions include Force Electronics (1986), Help Electronics (1991), Sage Electronics (1991), Gateway Megatech (1998), Thompson Electronic Supplies (2011) and Kotek Eletro Eletronica Ltda (2012). In 2012, Heilind formed its Mil-Aero business unit to concentrate on the military and aerospace market segments. This business unit's first acquisition was military and aerospace distributor, Interstate Connecting Components (ICC).

Heilind has also expanded globally. It's first venture outside of the United States was in 2000, with the opening of facilities in Markham, Ontario (Canada), and Guadalajara, Jalisco (Mexico). The company further expanded internationally in 2012, purchasing Brazilian distributor Kotek Eletro Eletronica, and later opening offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Suzhou and Dongguan, China. In 2015 Heilind expanded to Europe by acquiring the MPS group of companies.

In 1974, Heilind formed its first important franchise partnership with American connector manufacturer Molex. Other significant partnerships followed: in 1981 with American connector manufacturer TE Connectivity (then operating as AMP); with Japanese relay manufacturer Omron in 1985; with American electronic hardware and connector manufacturer Panduit and Japanese connector manufacturer Hirose in 1989; with French connector manufacturer FCI (then known as Berg Electronics) in 1990; with the electronics division of American manufacturer 3M and Japanese connector manufacturer JAE in 1998; and with Swiss connector manufacturer LEMO in 2008. Today, Heilind is franchised for more than 150 of the electronics industry's leading manufacturers and offers products in 25 different component categories.
