Heilind Electronics Europe, a leading global distributor of interconnect, electromechanical components and fasteners, has opened a new state-of-the-art distribution center in Hanau near Frankfurt, Germany.

The grand opening, which took place on the 23rd of April, reinforces Heilind's commitment to supporting European innovation while expanding its presence in Western Europe. This new center will strengthen the company’s position in this region whilst supporting growth in Central and Western Europe, namely the DACH region, Benelux, Italy and France for Industrial and MIL/Aero business.

Located in Hanau near Frankfurt, a major logistics hub in Europe, the new distribution center spans over 8 000 m2, including a Value-Add Center and offices. This large surface area allows for increased storage capacity, accommodating more inventory to meet demand fluctuations. The facility offers Value-Added Distribution (VAD) services including kitting, re-reeling, special packaging, connector assembly and more – all tailored to meet the diverse needs of Heilind’s customers across Europe.

“We always aim to be close to our customers so we can provide an even higher level of service”, says Grzegorz Łyszczarz, Managing Director of Heilind Electronics Europe. “Germany has always been a pivotal market for us, and in the past five years we started expanding our presence in the country by opening additional local offices. Due to the dynamic development and customer acquisition in new European markets, Heilind Electronics Europe decided to rent the first warehouse and office in Poland. The occupied facility is located in Hillwood Mysłowice in the Silesian voivodeship.

The Feldkirchen BRK emergency medical service is on call 365 days a year for the citizens of the municipality of Feldkirchen-Westerham. The new Han-Eco B connectors offer some additional functionality compared to the standard connectors in the Han B metal housing. This includes above all the possibility of rear panel mounting. The high-performance thermoplastic of the Han-Eco B is corrosion-resistant and offers flexible mounting options.

The sensor market is booming. More and more devices include sensors to collect information about the operating conditions and the environment. Accordingly, the range of different models is large. Choosing the right sensor for your own application is difficult. These tips provide a guideline.

For Haus und Elektronik 2/2019, our product managers Dalibor Bacic and Andreas Haas present important electronic components for connected homes. In the article, the product managers describe the advantages of different sensors, antennas and electronic components in the smart home. Hybrid connectors accommodate up to 7000 contacts. For developers, they are especially interesting when there is a lack of space. Some hybrid connectors are offered with fixed layout and contacts for power and signal transmission; other connectors are modular and allow variable combination of contacts. The performance data are also very different. The data transmission for the measuring devices required in smart grid solutions can i.a. via the already laid power cable. An important role is played by signal relays, which switch on the data connection. Why Germany lags behind in the installation of intelligent digital electricity meters, reveals our product Manager Electromechanics Andreas Haas (in German) in the journal Electronics.
